Fortnite live event countdown – what the mystery timer means and how to watch along - Mirror Online

Fortnite's next live event is gearing up to begin, but first, we have to reach the end of an ominous timer (something that Epic Games seems to love).

If there’s one thing we know about Fortnite and its approach to live events, it’s that it loves a flair for the dramatic. It seems that whenever the game intends to do something big and bombastic, it has to offer players something that keeps them on the edge of their seats.

They did it as recently as this season, with the Doom mini-event producing a mysterious countdown that led to the moment players could take down the giant Marvel baddie. And we’re witnessing the very same thing now as we wait for the arrival of Fortnite Remix Chapter 2, with a giant clock ticking down in-game to the event that will bridge the gap between the new approach to OG seasons and our current Chapter 5 Season 4, currently at the tail end of its Fortnitemares 2024 event. The countdown is ominous, but Fortnite is promising a good time when it hits zero – but we have to get there first.

Here’s how you can tune into the Fortnite live event countdown.

The Fortnite live event countdown is ticking down to the beginning of the upcoming Fortnite live event, titled Remix The Prelude, and can be seen from the Fortnite lobby, where you’ll see it ticking down in the upper right corner over the shoulder of your player character. The countdown will end at 10:30pm GMT / 6:30pm EDT / 3:30pm PDT tonight, which is when the Fortnite live event starts.

Alternatively, you’ll be able to see the Fortnite live event countdown when you load into Fortnite's Remix The Prelude mode, which will appear closer to the event, next to the Battle Royale and Zero Build modes from the lobby. This will allow you to drop into Restored Reels and watch the countdown in real time, from the area where the event will take place.

If you’re not able to jump into the game right now, though, streamers like Logo Blocks are broadcasting the Fortnite live event countdown on YouTube, and will be present for the event itself.

The timer marks the end of the current chapter, and when it comes to an end, Fortnite Remix The Prelude will begin as a live event, to help usher players into the brand new remixed OG season. It’s a compelling approach to the live event, but Fortnite has proven that when it counts down to something, it’s going to be worth tuning into. Don’t make the mistake of missing it.
